AWARENESS

LORE is a connection to your inner voice, your filter through which you experience the world..

Rick Rubin talks about the necessities of channeling the “source” — nature, the world, the physical built environment. Oftentimes we receive too much input from other people’s filtering of the world. Channel your own world filter.

Exercise: Meditate for 12 min, then channel energy into a small task you’ve been putting off for a while for 8 minutes (folding the laundry, organizing your desk, drawing, etc).

PERCEPTION

LORE is taking stock of who you are now, in the past, for the future. Hold an awareness of your character arc.

Exercise: Write a letter of gratitude to your past self from a year ago. How did you set yourself up for today? Thank yourself! Write a letter of intent for the future, with how you hope today’s actions will influence the outcomes then. 10mins per letter. It helps to direct the letter to “Dear X year old Alanah..” and think beyond yourself in third person

INTUITION

LORE is romantic / larger than the mundane

Exercise: Write a prose piece of yourself exactly where you are now, in third person. Describe your surroundings using unique adverbs and adjectives, try and capture the richness of the now — the scents, lighting, feelings in your body. Think of how that definition designs a certain perspective through which you see yourself. 20mins
